Philip Wade, JD, CPG
Attorney and Certified Professional Guardian.
Former Washington State Hearings Coordinator

Choosing an attorney is little different than choosing a doctor, accountant, mechanic, or any other professional that can turn out to be a blessing or a burden. Try to take time to interview a couple different attorney's before making a decision.

Ask people you know, read advertisements, and use whatever information you can get. In the end it will be how well you communicate with the attorney that will make a huge difference. It is also important that the person you choose is capable to achieve your goals - unfortunately, you may not know if your attorney can do this until it is too late. You can always change attorneys.

I am so concerned about doing the best job that I check and double check things at no cost to you - laws change too often not to keep checking. My goal is to exceed your expectations so you want to refer me to your family, friends, and anyone who asks you to recommend an attorney.

I've learned many great lessons from many wonderful people. Two ideas from my past guide much of what I do:

Where there's a will, there's a way. Determine what you want and figure out a way to get it.
- my Mother

Do a better job than people expect. Your reputation is what is important in the long run.
- my Father

These are not so special for what they say, but more for the fact that my Mother and Father actually practiced them in their lives. I'll strive to be creative, honest, aggressive and do the best job when helping you with your legal needs.

Other areas of law are handled determined by PBW Law Firm pllc. (click here for examples)

Consumer Law: If you purchase a product or service you should get a quality product or service. Unfortunately, not all businesses look at it this way. Make sure you inspect and appropriately respond immediately to preserve your rights (call for a consultation if you are not sure). This includes retail purchases, professional services, and unprofessional services (even "professionals" seems unprofessional, but unprofessional are those person not licensed in some way).

Property Disputes (real estate): Owning property can bring lots of blessings and curses. Know your rights when you buy property, when you remodel property, when your neighbors do something to harm your property, or when the government is being unreasonable. The other major problem area is insurance not paying under your home owner's insurance when they should (or not the correct amount that they should).

Landlord-Tenant Disputes: Whether you're a landlord or tenant you are governed by a set of laws and your rental agreement. Make sure you don't give up rights or get into trouble because you don't know what you are expected to do. It is better to find out before there is a problem, but if you wait until there is a problem make sure you call before 14 days or some of your rights may be lost.

Property Disputes (personal): When more than one person claim a right to personal property (vehicles, furniture, stock, art, tools, etc) there can be major disagreement. Find out how to get what belongs to you without getting into trouble yourself.

Wills, Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive: If you have millions of dollars you likely already have these items and other estate planning legal documents. For the rest of us, these documents are often put off until an injury, illness, or problem. Don't wait to decide what will happen to you or your property when something bad happens. We offer reasonable prices for each item or all as a package. We also have group discounts if you and your friends/family want to have these documents created at the same time (your confidentiality is maintained, it is just a price discount).
